Playworld Systems demonstrates why details matter at the NRPA Congress and Expo

Family-Owned Company Offers Playful Hands-On Experiences and
Seminars in Booth #1405

HOUSTON (October 8, 2013) – Playworld Systems, a leading manufacturer of imaginative playground and fitness equipment, today announced it will highlight “The Playworld Systems Difference” at the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Congress and Exposition 2013 in Houston. Visitors to Playworld Systems’ booth (#1405) will have the chance to discover that difference firsthand by experiencing the family-owned company’s industry-leading products – including its stylish, new site furnishings collection and new SMARTE® Safety Surfacing – as well as by participating in engaging and informative seminars on durability and maintenance reduction.

“For more than 40 years, every playground experience we have created reflects our uncompromising craftsmanship and commitment to quality,” said Matthew Miller, CEO of Playworld Systems. “We are excited to reveal to NRPA attendees how these key ingredients continue to yield the hard-wearing and easy-to-maintain playground products our customers want, helping to forge our legacy of play for generations.”

Seminars
Playworld Systems will hold seminars at 11 a.m. and noon on Tuesday, October 8, and noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9. These will explain how details can lower maintenance costs and increase durability, reducing operating costs for the playground operator throughout the life of the playground.

An Invitation to Come Out and Play
NRPA attendees are encouraged to visit the Playworld Systems booth and play the Craftsmanship Challenge. This custom game demonstrates the company’s quality standards and craftsmanship. The highest scorer on each day will win an iPad.

Site Furnishings
The booth will feature Playworld Systems’ new site furnishings collection that reflects the company’s dedication to extraordinary craftsmanship. These furnishings utilize premium materials and are designed to enhance parks, playgrounds, municipal areas and other outdoor spaces. Visitors to the booth will be able to see and touch the quality of the furnishings, which combine distinctive design and practical functionality. All five collections include concealed hardware, putting the focus on the beauty of the design.

SMARTE SafetySurfacing
Playworld Systems acquired SMARTE Safety Surfacing in early 2013 as a perfect complement to the company’s product offerings. SMARTE is safe, accessible, sustainable and convenient; attributes that set it apart from other surfacing options. SMARTE is a safe playground surface that incorporates secured recycled rubber mulch in pillows topped with a unitary layer. SMARTE Safety Surfacing exceeds industry standards for head impact criterion (HIC), a metric used to rate safety issues related to playground surfacing, automobiles, personal protective equipment and sports equipment. SMARTE is available with a unitary turf surface. It complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessible Guidelines (ADAAG), is firm, stable and slip resistant. The surfacing layers and the unitary top layer allow access by mobility devices, further reinforcing Playworld Systems’ ongoing commitment to inclusive play. Adding SMARTE Safety Surfacing to its product portfolio also exemplifies Playworld Systems ongoing commitment to sustainability. SMARTE will be on display in Playworld Systems booth for visitors to experience for themselves.
