Retired NFL player Andy Russell stops by Playworld Systems

Last week former Pittsburgh Steeler linebacker Andy Russell visited Playworld Systems’ headquarters to discuss the importance of economic education and fueling economic growth throughout Pennsylvania.

The event at Playworld Systems was part of Russell’s visit to the Susquehanna Valley region for a two-day appearance and book signing tour, sponsored by Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation and EconomicsPennsylvania, the Selinsgrove headquartered non-profit economic education and financial literacy organization, serving K-12th grade teachers and students, throughout the Commonwealth.  Russell serves as volunteer vice chair of the EconomicsPennsylvania state board of directors and continues to donate profits from his latest book, “Beyond the Goalpost,” to the organization.

While at Playworld Systems, Russell took a tour of the facility, ate lunch with employees, and spoke on the importance of economics education.  He also shared some inspirational stories from his days on the pro football field as well as his experience running a successful venture capital firm.

Employees as well as visitors boasted about their newly autographed terrible towels, Steeler jerseys and other Steelers’ memorabilia. As part of the event, Playworld Systems’ employees had the opportunity to go “Casual for a Cause,” and successfully raised $350.00 in support of EconomicsPennsylvania.
