Playground Safety Week 2013

April 22-26 marks National Playground Safety Week (NPSW), a time designated by the National Program for Playground Safety (NPPS) to focus on children’s outdoor play environments and pledge to use good judgment when playing. This years’ theme is safe sliders.activo bambino Playground Safety Week 2013

Playworld Systems recognizes NPPS for its ongoing dedication to promoting safe and developmentally appropriate play environments.

At Playworld Systems, we believe outdoor play is essential to a child’s physical and emotional well-being and sets the foundation for a lifetime of healthy activity. We know playgrounds must be safe and recently Playworld Systems introduced an updated version of PlayPod™, a tool that allows parents to report issues they see on the playground from their smart phone.

This innovative service employs Microsoft Tag to provide 24/7 mobile access to useful information. In addition to reporting potential problems, the app features videos where users can  learn more about specific products on the playground.

It is important to check playgrounds where your children play. Look for age-appropriate equipment and hazards, such as rusted or broken equipment and dangerous surfaces. Use PlayPod to report any hazards to the school or appropriate local official.

Ensuring that playgrounds are inspected and playworld phone 148x300 Playground Safety Week 2013maintained is also essential to keeping children safe while they play. PlayPod helps simplify the process of maintaining a playground over time.
